Anne Whelan, President & CEO
Anne Whelan is a Canadian entrepreneur, innovator, community and business leader. As the founder and CEO of the Seafair group, she has grown a small, family business into a thriving portfolio of small-and-medium-sized organizations.
In addition to leading her group of companies, she currently chairs the board of directors of Newfoundland Power, a subsidiary of Fortis Inc. (TSX:FTS). She is also a director of the Bank of Canada, and of CSA Group, a Canadian standards organization with global operations in testing, inspection and certification. She has received many accolades for entrepreneurship and leadership at the national level, including being named to Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women by WXN in 2016 and Atlantic Business Magazine's CEO of the Year in 2014.
Anne holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Memorial University. She also completed advanced studies in Alternative Dispute Resolution and holds the ICD.D designation from the Directors Education Program of the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Business.
Matthew Head, VP, Consumer Health & US Operations
Matthew brings more than 15 years of experience in leading progressive care delivery models. He brings immense operational knowledge paired with strong leadership skills to the Seafair team. His deep understanding of people and process has enabled him to lead many of our care companies through significant stages of growth.
As VP of Consumer Health Care and US Operations, Matthew plays a key role in leading our start-up home health agency, Life Home Health, in Florida and providing strategic oversight to our home health retailer, HealthQuest. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Memorial University and has completed the Advanced Leadership Program through the Gardiner Centre.
Brent Meade, VP, Care Partnerships
Brent is a strategic senior leader with more than 20 years of experience in economic, social, policy, and program development and leadership in the public sector. Leading the Care Partnerships division - consisting of CareGivers, Blue sky, Momentum, and Aurelia - Brent brings skills in strategic planning, project management, operations, communications and human resources to our group.
Brent previously served in various executive capacities with the Government of NL, including ten years as a Deputy Minister in four departments. Having grown up in a family of business owners, Brent is experienced in small business ownership, with a strong understanding of small-medium enterprises.
A highly regarded public speaker, presenter, board member, and mentor, Brent is a natural and persuasive communicator, recognized for his keen ability to create consensus among divergent groups. He has a proven track record of playing a contributory role in major civic and community initiatives and programs.
Brent holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Acadia University and a Master's Certificate in Project Management from York University and has completed executive leadership programs through the Canada School of Public Service.
