Michael Duah, Chief Financial Officer  & Vice President of Finance

Admired for instilling financial prudence & performance, driving growth, and building financial infrastructure for multi-million-dollar companies, Michael is a trusted financial expert with remarkable history of guiding corporate acquisitions and/or mergers, designing highly effective reporting systems, and optimizing staff performance for 20+ years. Over the years Michael has utilized the principle of “IMPACT” (Insight, Monitoring, Partnership, Accuracy, Consistency and Timeliness) as tool to guide decision making, to provide support to executives and boards, and to maximize return on value (ROV) for various organizations and/or stakeholders.

As the Chief Financial Officer & VP Finance of Seafair Capital Inc. (and the entire Seafair Group of Companies – the “Group”), Michael has deployed financial strategies that empowers the Group to achieve sustained growth year over year. By restructuring financial operations and entrenching financial discipline and accountability, the Group has seen cumulative growth in revenue over multiple years. Equally important, the Group has seen growth in return on value over that period.

With a global lens on social impact, Michael brings a pragmatic and unique perspective to the challenges facing Atlantic Canada – a place he has called home since immigrating from Ghana in 1999 – and solutions to help establish sustainable, diverse, and equitable communities.

Michael serves on several corporate and community group boards including Brightisle Canada Inc., MGI Microfinance Limited, 2M Express Limited and Ghana Union of Canada.

Michael is a member of the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD), has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a holder of Certificate of Strategic Innovation Program from University of Oxford Said business School. He is Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) in Canada and a Fellow Member of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) of United Kingdom.
